its been a looonnng time

We have been so busy lately that I simply have forgotten to update the blog. As well as the fact that our home computer crashed and I just haven't had the means to do so, but today I am staying after school and Case is watching "Math Monsters" on my smart board while I type this... Math Monsters is a very educational show about math for pre-k - 2nd grades.

If you are unaware, Eric is coaching baseball again this year and really teaching his players a thing or two about baseball. He is the volunteer assistant coach, but based on his expertise of baseball (thank you coach dallas) essentially he is the head coach. He has been traveling as much as possible with the boys and we have gone to every game within an hours driving distance. His players have taken a liking to them as well, in fact at this past Saturdays' double header, one of the players, who also happens to be one of my FFA Officers gave Eric a hug as soon as they won. It made my heart smile. :)

Case is such a joy. Today we celebrate his life as he turns 3! woohoo! We are still working on potty training.. he told me the other day that pooping just isn't cool and thats why he won't do it in the potty. Yay I say. Not. Aside from not going to the bathroom in the toilet, Case has really become advanced in his vocabulary, he speaks in complete sentences, is very clear and likes to ask lots of "why" questions. He is also very adventurous, as he loves animals he likes to try and push Eric and I as far as he can when he slides under a panel into a pen of heifers just to see how close he can get to them. He also LOVES baseball, and that is a bit of an understatement. We go to every practice because there is a playground there and he used to love playing on the park and going down the slide, but now he's paying attention to the ball and the boys and which bases they are on and what kind of equipment they are using. Its great, and making his daddy very proud. Everyday Case tells us that he is a baseball player. In fact, Eric came home the other day with a batting helmet that got broke during practice and Case has adopted it as his new toy. He has to go to sleep with it on, as well as play ball with his broom (as a bat) and a small toy boulder (baseball) almost everyday in the kitchen.

Onto me... we have been very busy at school and with FFA. This past month was AIMS testing, FFA week in which we had a community dance, county wide pancake breakfast, as well as an assembly we like to call "Ag Olympics". FFA is also in the process of purchasing a truck from McSpadden Ford to use as an AG Truck, as well as advertise local businesses on the vehicle as a fundraiser. This month we are doing a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and hope for a great outcome. Next week is spring break and I plan to take Case to the phx zoo, go get a crown in tucson (the lame part of spring break) and visit family. It should be fun.

I will add some pictures soon....

dinosaurs oh dinosaurs

We have had quite the busy start to the year already and I know it has been a few months since hte last post.. then again, maybe just a month but it feels longer.

Case loves dinoasaurs. He will tell you the different types, what colors they are, how loud they roar and he will even take them to feed the horses.

Currently, dinasaurs are the "IT THING" at the McSpadden house

Today Case went with me on some SAE visits. We chased cows horseback, chased geese and drove with a student in a semi truck that he rebuilt. Lots of fun today!

2 year old logic

the logic of a 2 year old cracks me up.

today on the way home, we had a conversation.

M: I have to go potty when we get home! Do you need to go potty?
C: (shaking his head) no, I have my hat on!
M: So when you have your hat on, you don't have to go potty?
C: yea, my hat covers me up!

so if you ever need to go potty, just put on a hat!

Life in the country..

We love the life we live, we are happy, and home is where we have placed our hearts, here in the small town of Sheldon.
