For the past 2 years we have put on an FFA silent auction at our fair in September. These are some ideas of things that we would like in our silent auction this year. Maybe you could donate them!

Navajo Music
so you are probably wondering why iadded " Jesus Loves Me" in Navajo to the bottom of our blog. Well, my mom asked me today to make a blog for their summer mission team that will be going to ManyFarms, AZ which is on the Navajo Reservation for a mission trip over labor day weekend. I embeded some Navajo music into that blog and really liked the Jesus Loves Me song, as the lyrics are in both Navajo and English, but it is sung in Navajo. It sounds beautiful to me.

Yummy recipe!
Fat Free Zucchini Bread

4 cups bread flour
1 tbspn. brown sugar (I used organic raw sugar)
2 tspns. salt
1 tspn. ground cinnamon
1/2 tspn. ground cloves
1/2 cup coarsely grated zucchini

Place all ingredients into the pan in the order suggested by the bread machine manufacturer and add zucchini with dry ingredients; select basic white bread setting and start. Makes a 2 lb. loaf.
SUPER DELISH! You all should try it!

Tuckered out!
On Tuesday we played hard. Lots of time outside chasing chickens, working in the garden, chasing the dogs, catching toads... all makes for a tired boy!
Case was not ready to go to sleep (according to him) and so instead of listening to him throw a fit, I wanted to get dinner done and let him play on his floor. well, after about 5 minutes of playing the room went silent. I walked into the room, and found Case.

millipedes
today we learned that millipedes are almost-edible, all they do to defend themselves is secrete a really stinky, and only Case would know, horrible tasting stuff. I have no idea where he found the millipede, as we were in my classroom, but, after all, it is an Ag-classroom....
Oh, and last night he said the word "poop". 3 times.

To our dads
What is it that dads do, you ask?
Dads are the ones who teach you things
like how to ride your bike, fly a kite or wear a gas mask (when picking up dog poo)
They show you how to shoot a gun, kill a deer and gut it too
Dads are great, they are so hard not to appreciate
that is why on Fathers Day we all need to show our love
and say thanks to the dad who raised you.
Eric is a wonderful dad to Case. I am so thankful that he is willing to change diapers, feed Case and play with him of course I am so lucky to have him as my partner in crime and friend for life. He will always do a great job at raising our children!

Thanks for so many things, you have been the one I looked up too since I was a wee little girl. But most of all thanks for:
- teaching me to ride a horse
- loving mom and us kids
- teaching me how to weld
- showing me how to make bits and spurs
- sharing your love of cattle and ranching with me
- being my dad
- answering my silly phone calls around dinner time when I ask how to make something and taking the time to answer my questions
- playing basketball with me after dinner in high school
- showing me how to rope
- letting me make mistakes, but getting me back on track
- letting me "borrow" your truck and not getting to mad when you found out
- teaching me to drive... I know it was a pain!
- answering my calls, no matter when they are
- teaching me the ins and outs of raising livestock
- and sooo much more!
Thank you to all the dads in our lives, if I had pictures of Eric with Udon as a kid I would post them too!

Thank you Aunt Brandi!
Over a year ago, at my baby shower for Case, Brandi got Case a pottery barn kids gift card. I didn't have any idea what to get with it, so I just kept it and every now and again, I would go to their website and check out what they had.. well, I finally found the cutest thing! A Dr. Suess Bath Towel, completely coustomized with Cases' name... its super duper cute!
So, after giving Case a bath this afternoon, I wrapped him up and Eric took a picture!
Case and his kitty
Cases' nanny, Rosemary gave us 3 kittens right at the end of the school year. I intended them to be barn cats and stay at the barn. They did really well there for the first 3 weeks we had them. Now, all 3 (still around) think they are garage cats and stay at the house. They are so cute, each with a very different personality. We haven't named them yet, we were waiting to see if they would last, but I do think their names will be arriving shortly...

The biggest kitty, who we have yet to name (I'll leave that to you readers) is surely the hunter of the group likes to pounce and play.. and pick on the other cats. She is not the lovey of the group, but leaves that to her sister below...

This is the worthless cat. In Erics' words, " she is worthless. she likes anything with a pulse, and if a coyote walked up to her, she'd probably kiss it" While, she may be worthless and rather annoying because she follows you everywhere and meows... alot.. she is Cases' buddy. She lets him pet her, and grab her tail and pick her up and toss around. She also is Clydes' pal. Clyde is our Jack Russell for those of you who don't know. She basically thinks she is a dog and its really funny. She even wags her tail. She too, needs a name, although Case calls her "Lights" which really isn't anythign special since he thinks everything is a light.

The smallest kitty, a male who was the runt of the litter, still is the smallest but he always has the fullest belly. I don't have a picture of him, but he is a klutz. Not related to the other kittens, he is skinyn and gray, with a white nose and small white socks. Right after we got him, he dislocated his shoulder and wouldn't walk on his front leg. now, he is healed up, and doing well...
but, all the cats need names!!!

Eric tested, OSHA NOT-approved
Erics' goal is to get the upstairs finished (as in, completely sheetrocked) by the end of today, and I must say, he is probably gonna make it... yay!!
On another note, Eric is the poster child for lack of safety.. this coming from a shop teacher, I am going to say that I know...
Examples below:
- no safety glasses (ever) when using machinery, equipment, nail guns, staple guns, sawing, ect.
- standing on ladders placed strategically on TOP of 6 ft high scaffolding
- walking around on the roof outside, gun in hand shooting at coyotes and roadrunners
I know he knows what he is doing, its just unnerving to see sometimes. Maybe I should just leave and go to town when he is working on the house.. or go play with Case for awhile..
