faces from Dad

Tuckered out!

On Tuesday we played hard. Lots of time outside chasing chickens, working in the garden, chasing the dogs, catching toads... all makes for a tired boy!
Case was not ready to go to sleep (according to him) and so instead of listening to him throw a fit, I wanted to get dinner done and let him play on his floor. well, after about 5 minutes of playing the room went silent. I walked into the room, and found Case.

With his blankie in one hand, crashed on the floor of his room.

millipedes

today we learned that millipedes are almost-edible, all they do to defend themselves is secrete a really stinky, and only Case would know, horrible tasting stuff. I have no idea where he found the millipede, as we were in my classroom, but, after all, it is an Ag-classroom....

Oh, and last night he said the word "poop". 3 times.

Case helped me in the garden today and he harvested himself a carrot!

how does your garden grow?

I missed harvesting yesterday and this morning you could sure tell! I harvested a zucchini this morning that was HUGE!!! To show you just how huge it is, I took a picture of a normal sized zucchini and some fence pliers. Check it out!

To our dads

What is it that dads do, you ask?
Dads are the ones who teach you things
like how to ride your bike, fly a kite or wear a gas mask (when picking up dog poo)
They show you how to shoot a gun, kill a deer and gut it too
Dads are great, they are so hard not to appreciate
that is why on Fathers Day we all need to show our love
and say thanks to the dad who raised you.

Eric is a wonderful dad to Case. I am so thankful that he is willing to change diapers, feed Case and play with him of course I am so lucky to have him as my partner in crime and friend for life. He will always do a great job at raising our children!

Now here is a flashback into my past... This is a note to my dad,
Thanks for so many things, you have been the one I looked up too since I was a wee little girl. But most of all thanks for:
  • teaching me to ride a horse
  • loving mom and us kids
  • teaching me how to weld
  • showing me how to make bits and spurs
  • sharing your love of cattle and ranching with me
  • being my dad
  • answering my silly phone calls around dinner time when I ask how to make something and taking the time to answer my questions
  • playing basketball with me after dinner in high school
  • showing me how to rope
  • letting me make mistakes, but getting me back on track
  • letting me "borrow" your truck and not getting to mad when you found out
  • teaching me to drive... I know it was a pain!
  • answering my calls, no matter when they are
  • teaching me the ins and outs of raising livestock
  • and sooo much more!

Thank you to all the dads in our lives, if I had pictures of Eric with Udon as a kid I would post them too!
